Best Practices for Facebook ads


Generating real estate leads online has become a very common practice amongst many real estate professionals. Particularly, Facebook advertisements have been the more popular option for generating high quality leads. To generate the best results out of your Facebook ads, here are a few tips to follow: 


  • Use videos: Vertical or square aspect ratio videos work best because they cover most of the screen.

  • Use less text on images: Try a smaller font and less words on images to decrease text to image ratio. Images with less than 20% text tend to perform better. Although there is no limit on the amount of text that can be used in an ad image. 

  • Keep texts short: Online users scan content quickly. In a research conducted by the Mobile Marketing Association, it took 2–3 seconds for 2 out of 3 for people to see and cognitively recognize desktop ads compared to 0.4 seconds on mobile. This is why it’s important to keep text short, clear and precise to get your message across.

  • Use carousel image ads: Carousel ads showcase several images for people to scroll through at the same cost. It's a great sales opportunity if you have multiple images for your product or service.

  • Use animation: Ads with animation or movement stand out in the News Feed. There are even free templates available online that can add animation to your ad and stories. Here are some examples of free apps you can use:

    • Hyperlapse - App for creating time-lapsed images

    • Boomerang - App for creating looped videos

    • Adobe PhotoShop Express - App for editing images

    • Adobe Spark - App for curating videos using templates and images

  • Utilize calls-to-action: A variety of call-to-action (CTA) buttons are available on both Facebook and Instagram ads. These CTA buttons help draw attention and encourage people to engage with your ad. Depending on the goal of the ad, experiment with the CTA buttons available for various ad objectives and formats.
